 Welcome to NatureCulture® and Writing the Land®

Thank you for being here! Poets, land trusts, those seeking a retreat or people would like to come to an event—-we hope you find something here that connects you to the rest of Nature of which we are a part.


Books and Publishing

NatureCulture publishes the Writing the Land® anthologies and other books that help people be in right relationship with the rest of Nature. As of 2026, we are grateful to have published 34 books, 17 as part of the Writing the Land series. 


Writing the Land® Project

The Writing the Land® project involves over 150 land trusts and 350 poets across the country and in Canada, Cayman, and Ireland. 


Events and Workshops

Our poets offer Writing the Land® workshops in person and online, in conjunction with our land trust partners and independently. 

There is also a plethora of reading events and other gatherings.


NatureCulture® Poetry Award

The NatureCulture® Poetry Award will be open for submissions in March 2027. Our 2026 Winners were: erin feldman first place, with Joan Hofmann 2nd, Hiram Larew 3rd, and Laura Rodley 4th. 


Calls for Submissions

Current project accepting submissions is Plaitings: The Nature and Culture of the Cayman Islands.
